We went to a party last night. It is essential once you have kids to have lots of friends with kids. That is what this party was. Lots of families get together and the adults all sit around and talk and eat and drink and all the kids form little mobs and run around screaming and playing and creating chaos and we basically ignore them. It's a hoot. I had a very good time and was happy to see a bunch of my friends that I hadn't seen in a while. Plus they served gumbo and it was super yummy, chicken and sausage and real spicy. I brought corn on the cob side dish plus my standard well liked fruit trifle dessert. We did have to leave a little earlier than I would have liked because Loren kept getting woken up by the crazy kid mobs and eventually got cranky beyond repair, but I still had a great time. In no time Loren will be joining them and then that won't be an issue :)

Mike has been working all weekend but did take a break to go to the party with us. He leaves early in the morning for San Jose for the week. My first week with no school for the kids and Mike out of town... I see a lot of Mcdonald's playscape dinners in my future :) Mike is just trying to get all his ducks in a row so we can head out on our RV trip in a few weeks guilt free.
