Our Sweet Play Pad

We have lots of raised bed areas in our yard, and due to neglect, most of them look like little chunks of the Amazon jungle in my own backyard. I decided to clear out one of them except for the trees and turn it into a summer playground. It's nice and shady so a good place in this hot weather. Last night I worked on it.  I cleared it out, put down some astroturf carpet stuff, bought some new pools for the kids, cleaned and replaced the sand in the sandbox and moved it, brought over my old swing bench, got a bin for toys, and now it's FLIPPIN' SWEET. I dont have to put the sandbox or pools on the lawn where they will kill it, but we can have them out all the time to play.  We played out there today.

This is an overview from one end.

I think Andrew is trying to squirt me.

Here's the dino sandbox (the beach area), and Loren asleep on the bench.  That's also where I sit when I hang with the kids.
You can't really tell from the pictures, but the leaning trunks on the right are red oaks that nicely shade the area.

Here's the water end, complete with two pools.  A bigger pool with slide for Andrew and Tracy and a smaller pool for Loren.  (when she's awake)  Tracy is putting water in the big pool.  Also featured is my dog's butt.

Here's an overview from the other end, once again I am about to be squirtgunned.
