Mouse Trap

For quite a while now Mike and I have been hearing scratching noises and footsteps in one of our walls and we knew we had some sort of critter living in the wall. It sounded like it was pretty big, we figured it was a rat or a squirrel or maybe even bigger. I put a live rat trap in the cold air return where I had once heard the critter scrambling around. Less than 12 hours later I caught the ferocious beast.

Ok, so its not exactly a ferocious beast or a rat.  And its SUPER CUTE!  My kids want to keep it as a pet.  My cat likes to sniff it.
Here are more pics of my cute little mousie.

In spite of my rage I am still just a rat in a a cage.

Can I have him for dinner?

He is cute! Just like the little guy we saw on my porch munching on the weed/tree here!

Yeah, he looks exactly like that. I would have been happier to see one in my backyard, was annoying living in the house with us :) He was just noisy living in my wall and chewing up who knows what. I'll probably go chunk him in a field somewhere.

I don't see the cuteness, but would it be safe to let your kids keep it? Also, so mice roam alone?

I dont think we'll let them keep it. I dont see/hear any signs of more but I'll just keep a lookout for any of his friends.

Adorable, but keeping a feral mouse is a bad idea. Just dispose of that one and get a nice little mouse from the pet store. :)

Yeah, I dont think we were actually going to let them keep it :) Andrew just said he wanted to. Even if there werent health/safety issues, I think he'd be better off with a captive born tame one. Not that I am agreeing to get him one at all ;) but if.

Oh nevermind, I didn't think about that. :(

I was gonna say, if you don't want it, I'll take and name it Stuart for Siobhan. :)
