Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnn! part 1

Halloween was a blast this year.  Saturday the 24th we went to a Halloween party out at my friend Lisa's house.  She lives way out in the country so we are free to be as loud and crazy as we want.   They put on the most awesome scary haunted house, it was great!  It even scared me a few times.  Loren was scared and was screaming and thought the headless guy was scary.  After we got out she was laughing and thought it was hilarious.  The only thing that bothered her was after the haunted house was all over and some of the actors came out, she was all, "MOM!!  the headless guy is OUTSIDE the haunted house!!"  It was too funny.   We had a great time with our friends and we partied until the kids were passed out in the living room.   My photostream of the party is here.   But here are a few favorites.

Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnn! part 2

On Sunday the 26th we went to a little family Halloween party up at our neighborhood country club. It was pretty low key, but the kids still had a lot of fun. There was coloring, cookie decorating, a hay ride, a band, a spaghetti dinner, a costume contest, and other activities. Andrew won a vase full of bubble gum balls by making the closest guess of how many were in the vase. That made his night. Then our family jointly took home the prize for best costume! The prize was a pumpkin decorating kit a la Mr potato head that they had stuck all over a pumpkin.

Here's the girls on the hayride around the golf course.

Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnn! part 3

Thursday night before Halloween there was a Talent Show up at the kids elementary school put on by the teachers to raise the last bit of money the kids needed for their charity drive to build a preschool in Sri Lanka. The kids were supposed to all wear their costumes up to the show. I knew there wouldnt be any other adults wearing costumes but since our costume was a family costume Mike and I wore ours anyway. It was a blast all going in together. The show was hilarious. The kids loved seeing their teachers up on stage dressed silly and acting silly. At the end of the talent show about 40 or so teachers did the entire Thriller dance in full zombie costume. That's a lot of choreography to learn, they did a great job and looked great. What a fun group!

Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnn! part 4 The end I promise.

Our last costume night was Halloween! We decided to have a halloween party at our house Halloween night. We invited lots of families over to either join us for dinner and trick or treating or to come on over after they trick or treated at home and have the kids play off their sugar highs while the parents hung out and had some drinks. We had a good turnout, with a few families for the first part and quite a few for the after party, I lost count!  We all hung out on the deck and in the backyard and enjoyed some relaxing beverages and hung out while the kids played and went crazy.  I had a great time!  Hope everyone else did too!
