The flight

Thursday we werent ready to leave for our trip since Mike hadnt arrived home from his business trip until around 3am. We wanted to be there by early afternoon friday so we would have had to get up really early to make it there actually leaving friday so we instead just decided to fly overnight. So we spent all day thursday finishing up a few errands and packing and then around 9pm or so headed out to the airport. We spent a while stuffing all our crap into the plane and doing preflight stuff to the plane. It was probably around 10 or 11 that we took off for Maryland.

Friday - rehearsal

After getting up from our nap we all got cleaned up and ready to go to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for my Aunt Kay's wedding.  We headed to the little church in Laytonsville.  During the rehearsal I was sitting in the back of the church with the kids and there was this cool light coming in through the stained glass windows.  I had my little camera and snapped some pics.

Saturday morning - farm!

We are staying at Tom's farm.  It is really beautiful here and the kids are having a lot of fun.  rabidcat's daughters are up here visiting from Texas too so there are 5 kids.  Tom has been taking the kids out around the farm to play in the creek, pick berries, visit animals, and all sorts of fun outside stuff.

The kids have been enjoying wineberries, cherries, blackberries, raspberries picked straight off the plants.  Man that is something I miss from childhood.  I used to eat tons of berries straight off the bushes.

Saturday morning I hopped on the toro with the kids for a little while to visit some animals and stuff.

The strangest things...

It's weird being back in the area of the country where I grew up.   The funniest things remind me of my childhood.

For some reason these clover flowers remind me of my childhood summers...

We always had tons of these in our yard in the summer.  I dont see these at all in Texas.   We would pick hundreds of them and tie them together and make big chains of them or crowns of them.
