TKD Graduation

Friday night our TaeKwonDo school had graduation and Andrew, Tracy and I each were testing for a new belt.

Andrew tested for his BLACK belt! He has been training for over 2 1/2 years and working hard and he finally reached his goal! Way to go buddy. I am so proud of him. He had a pretty brutal testing night. He had four patterns to perform (Do-San, Yul-Gok, Choong-Moo, Kwang-Gae), he had to spar one person three times, then two people at a time, and then three people at a time, all who were adult black belts who creamed him. It was actually pretty hilarious. Then he had to break a board which he did easily. Afterwards he kinda wished he had done a harder skill to break it, but at the time he just wanted to make sure he did.

Tracy also had to do the same four patterns, and I was so proud of her, it was the best I had ever seen her perform them and she remembered all four and was very smooth. Her sparring is getting much better too. She was testing for her 3rd level recommended black and should be able to test for her decided Black next testing session. Go Trace!

I tested for my blue belt. I only had to do one pattern (Yul-Gok). I still get nervous in front of so many people. I'm such a dork. I did my pattern just fine though and did pretty decent on sparring. I still need to land a nice kick in the head one of these fights. Anyhow.

Here's a video of Andrew breaking the board for his black belt.
