Being a parent...

You know, normally the news is kind of annoying, with these stupid sensationalist stories they cling onto, but I have to admit, as a parent, it felt nice to read that a young boy scout lost in the woods for four days was found alive and well today. I can't imagine what the parents have gone through the last four days and how they must feel now. My only personal comparison is the sick feeling you get when you lose your kid at the park for 2-3 minutes and then find them behind a tree not ten feet away... so pretty much take that feeling to the infinity power and that is what they went through. I have never really been a super emotional person especially for a woman, but having kids had caused me to experience some of the more extreme emotions I have ever felt, both good and bad.

I just read they got him back and I am so happy for his parents and for him. His mom was quoted yesterday trying to encourage the volunteers that they were doing a good job and that he was still out there, they just needed to find him. Her strength amazes me.
